Invalid Page Fault may Occur After You Paste Values (149160)

In Microsoft Excel 5.0 for Windows NT and Microsoft Excel for Windows 95,
version 7.0, when you copy a range of cells, click Paste Special on the
Edit menu, paste Values, and subsequently perform an action, you may receive
the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
0137:50006151.
NOTE: If you are using a computer that is running Windows NT, the error
message refers to an application exception rather than an invalid page
fault.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You are using Microsoft Excel 5.0 for Windows NT or Microsoft Excel for
Windows 95, version 7.0.
-and-
- The Microsoft Excel file that you are using contains extensive links to
external files.
This problem does not occur in 16-bit versions of Microsoft Excel or in
Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. The problem is corrected in
Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
MORE INFORMATION
