16-bit OLE Files Are Not Replaced by Office 95 Setup (147883)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office for Windows 95
- Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 95
- Microsoft Word for Windows 95
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95
This article was previously published under Q147883 SUMMARY
When you run Office 95 Setup, the program does not replace the 16-bit OLE
files installed by Windows 95, even if the files are damaged, corrupted, or
missing.
MORE INFORMATION
The 16-bit OLE files are included with Microsoft Office 95 Setup, but they
are not copied to the system, even if the 16-bit OLE files in the
Windows\System folder are damaged, corrupted, or missing, or if the files
are the incorrect version, size, or date.
If these files become corrupted, damaged, or are missing, you cannot
replace them by running Office 95 Setup. Instead, to replace these files,
you must copy them from the Windows\Sysbckup folder to the Windows\System
folder, or you must re-install Windows 95 to the same folder.
