PRJ: Changing Title Via Macro Won't Change Summary Task Name (146879)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows 4.0
- Microsoft Project for Windows 95 4.1
- Microsoft Project for the Macintosh 4.0
This article was previously published under Q146879 SYMPTOMS
Changing a project's Title property through a macro does not appear to
change the Name of the project summary task.
CAUSE
The Title property properly makes the change. Microsoft Project, however,
fails to refresh the view to show the change.
WORKAROUND
To make the new title appear, perform any action to force a refresh of the
screen such as scrolling the project summary task off the screen and back
again.
Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Project also provides an
alternative method for setting the project title. By using the
ProjectSummaryInfo method, you can set both the project Title and the Name
of the project summary task.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post
more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.
