When you attempt to save a Powerpoint 7.0 file to a NetWare server using
Gateway Services for NetWare (GSNW), the following error message appears:
The name '<drive>:\<filename>' is invalid on an 8.3 file system.
One of its components is too long or it contains an invalid character.
'/\:?*<>|[]+=;,' are invalid.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, upgrade to Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 4.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51.
This problem was corrected in the latest Windows NT 3.51 U.S. Service Pack.
