SUMMARY

Publisher cannot directly print a publication with left and right reversed (as a mirror image.) However, if you are printing to a printer that uses the PostScript page description language, you can use a feature of the Windows PostScript printer driver to do this.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are creating a publication that you will use to create iron-on transfers, you may want to print your publication as a mirror image. To do this, your printer must support the PostScript printer driver.

You can use this feature of the Windows PostScript driver to print mirror images from many programs, not just from Publisher (the steps listed below are not Publisher-specific).

If you are using Windows 95

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Printers.
  2. With the right mouse button, click the printer driver you want to use.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the Print As A Mirror Image box on the Graphics tab.
  5. Click OK.

If you are using Windows 3.x

  1. Run Control Panel and double-click Printers.
  2. From the list of installed printers, click the printer driver you want to use, and click Setup.
  3. Click Options.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. In the Graphics section, click the Mirror box.
  6. Click OK to close Advanced Options, then click OK, to close Options.
  7. Click OK once again to return to the Printers dialog box.

If you are using Windows NT Workstation

  1. Run Control Panel, and double-click Printers.
  2. Each installed printer will appear as a separate window. Click the window of the printer you want to use.
  3. On the Printer menu, click Properties.
  4. Click Details.
  5. Click Job Defaults.
  6. Click Options.
  7. Click the Mirror Image box. Click OK to exit Advanced Document Properties.
  8. Click OK to exit Document Properties.
  9. Click OK to exit Printer Details.
  10. Click OK to exit Printer Properties.
NOTE: Instead of changing this setting through the Printers control panel, you may be able to change these settings through the print setup, page setup, or print dialog boxes of your program.
