Money: Buttons Gone When Using Cirrus Logic 5429/30/34 Video Display (140237)

SYMPTOMS

On the Contents Screen in Money, half of the Contents button, the Report and Chart Gallery button, the Payees And Categories button, and the Planning Wizards button may appear to be missing.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use a Cirrus Logic 5429/30/34 video adapter that is using the Cirrusmm.drv video driver and you are running a screen resolution of 640 x 480 and 256 colors.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, change the video driver in the Display Properties dialog box from Cirrus Logic 5429/30/34 to the generic Cirrus Logic driver. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
  4. On the Settings tab, click Change Display Type.
  5. In the Adapter Type area of the Change Display Type dialog box, click Change.
  6. Click Show All Devices.
  7. Under Manufacturers, click Cirrus Logic, and under Models, click Cirrus Logic (if it is not already selected). Click OK.
  8. Click Close twice to exit Control Panel.
  9. Restart Windows 95.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
