This article was previously published under Q139021 SYMPTOMS
In Works, if the left and right margins of your document are set to less
than or equal to the printer's nonprintable region, and you apply a
paragraph border, this may truncate the left or right side, or both sides
of the border.
For example, you may have a printer with a nonprintable region of .25 inch
on all four sides of a page. If you set your left and right margins to be
.25 inch, and then apply an outline style paragraph border, the left and
right sides of the border may not print.
RESOLUTION
In order for the border to print completely, the left and right margins
must be increased. The amount the margins need to be increased depends on
the line style of the border being used. Usually, a range of .02 to .05
inch is sufficient to correct the problem.
MORE INFORMATION
In a Works word processing document, when a paragraph border is added, it is placed outside of the margins for that paragraph. This is by design so that adding a border will not affect the layout of the text. The border is placed outside the margins even if the margins for the document are at the nonprintable region of the printer. This may cause portions of the border to fall within the nonprintable region and therefore, these areas may not print.
