The Microsoft World Wide Web server, named www.microsoft.com, contains information on the company's products. To access the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the World Wide Web:
  1. Use your Web brower to connect to the Knowledge Base using the following address:
  2. Select "Excel for Windows or Macintosh" in the "My question is about" box.
  3. Type your question in the question box.
  4. Click Find to search the Knowledge Base and the Support Web site.

THE MICROSOFT NETWORK

To access the Microsoft Knowledge Base on The Microsoft Network:
  1. Click Go To on the Edit menu.
  2. Click Other Location.
  3. When the prompt "Type a Go word for a particular service" appears, type mssupport.

    NOTE: It may take a minute or more for the Knowledge Base to appear while it prepares the necessary files to run.

  4. Double-click MS Knowledge Base.

CREATING SHORTCUTS

In Microsoft Windows 95, you can create a shortcut to the Microsoft Knowledge Base that links you to the Knowledge Base when you click the shortcut icon.

To place a shortcut on the desktop:
  1. After you access the Knowledge Base by using the instructions in this article, click the KB icon once.
  2. On the File menu, click Create Shortcut.
To change any settings for the shortcut, such as the kind of window that displays the Knowledge Base or the key combination is used to access it, use the right mouse button to click the shortcut, and then click Properties.

To delete a shortcut, drag it to the Recycle Bin.
