This article was previously published under Q138867 SYMPTOMS
When you embed a Microsoft Excel 7.0 object in Word, only the first cell of
the worksheet appears.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows 95 version
7.0. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
WORKAROUND
There are several ways to work around this problem.
Method 1:
Close the worksheet in Microsoft Excel before trying to insert it
as an object in Word.
Method 2:
Instead of using the Insert Object feature in Word, copy the
worksheet in Microsoft Excel to the Clipboard and then paste it
into Word. It will still come in as an embedded object.
Method 3:
The following procedure will also correct the problem if it is
necessary that the file be open in Microsoft Excel:
- In Word, click Object on the Insert menu.
- Click the Create From File tab.
- Select the worksheet and click OK.
- Select the Link To File check box. Click OK.
- Once the object is in Word, click it to select it
and press DELETE.
- Repeat steps a through d to reinsert the worksheet. The
second time you perform these steps, the worksheet is
inserted correctly.
