If you select a text frame and click the Edit menu, the "Edit Story in Microsoft Word" command may not be available. This may happen even if you have Word for Windows, Word for Windows NT, or Word for Windows 95 installed on your computer.

CAUSE

For the "Edit Story in Microsoft Word" command to be on the Publisher Edit menu, both of the following must be true:
  • You must have Word 6.x for Windows, Word 6.0 for Windows NT, or Word for Windows 95 version 7.x installed on your computer. If you are using Publisher 97, you can use Word 97 for Windows or one of the aforementioned versions of Word.
  • You must have installed Word before you installed Publisher.
The "Edit Story in Microsoft Word" command is not available if you are using Word 1.x or 2.x or if you installed Word 6.x or 7.x after you installed Publisher.
