SUMMARY

When you open the Communications module in Works 4.x, if you have not installed a modem in Windows 95, you receive the following message:
There are no valid telephony devices available. Do you want to run the modem setup Wizard?

MORE INFORMATION

If you click Yes when you receive the error message mentioned above, the Windows 95 Add New Hardware Modem Setup Wizard will be started. You can then choose to allow Windows 95 to detect your modem and install the appropriate software. On the other hand, if you choose not to have Windows 95 detect your modem, you can manually select it from a list of modems.

If you click No when you receive the error message mentioned above, you will not be able to connect to a bulletin board or other communications service, but you will still be able to make a computer-to-computer direct connection using a null-modem cable. An actual modem is required to use the Works Communications module to access bulletin boards or other communications services.

If you choose Cancel when you receive the error message mentioned above, you will return to the Works Task Launcher.
