PUB: Ruler Cuts Off Top of Page at Some Page Sizes (137660)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows 3.0
This article was previously published under Q137660 SYMPTOMS
If you try to set a custom page size of 36 by 48 inches, the ruler may cut
off the very top edge of your page. You won't be able to zoom out or use
the scroll bars to see the very top edge of the page. (To set a custom page
size, click Page Setup on the File menu and click Special Size.)
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you choose a page size of Custom instead of Custom
Banner in the Page Size dialog box.
The Publisher workspace can be one of two sizes: 48 inches by 48 inches or
20 feet by 20 feet. You can't use the scroll bars to move outside the
workspace. If you are using a page size that is less than or equal to 48
inches in all directions, you see the 48-by-48-inch workspace by default.
If you are using a page size larger than 48-by-48 inches, you see the 20-by-
20-foot workspace. Publisher chooses which workspace to use based on the
Page Setup settings. If you are using a poster or banner page size, you get
the large workspace.
RESOLUTION- On the File menu, click Page Setup.
- Click Special Size if it is not already selected.
- In the Choose A Publication Size list, click Custom Banner.
- Set the dimensions of the page to 3' (Banner Width) and 4' (Banner
Height).
- Click OK.
Now you can scroll past the top of the page or zoom out to 7 percent or
smaller.
