WordArt: Hairline Borders Appear Clipped (137418)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft WordArt for Windows 95 3.0
- Microsoft WordArt 2.0
This article was previously published under Q137418 SYMPTOMS
If you format a WordArt object so that the letters have a hairline border,
portions of those borders may appear to be missing when you exit WordArt.
However, the border will be printed correctly.
CAUSE
When you add a border to a WordArt letter, WordArt makes the on-screen
representation of the object a little larger. If you are using a hairline
border, WordArt doesn't enlarge the object noticeably. Because hairlines
are actually narrower than what you can display on your monitor, sometimes
some of the pixels disappear into the object boundary on-screen. Note,
however, that the object will be printed correctly.
RESOLUTION
If you can zoom in to a view percentage greater than 100-percent, you will
see the entire border. If you need the entire border to be displayed at 100
percent or less, choose the next thicker size of border for your WordArt
object.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article.
