This article was previously published under Q137259 SYMPTOMS
When you add a Microsoft Excel section from an existing file to a
Microsoft Binder, any auto_open or auto_close macros in the Microsoft
Excel file are run when the section is being added to the binder.
However, if you open a Microsoft Binder file that has an existing
Microsoft Excel section that contains auto_open or auto_close macros,
those macros will not run either when you open the binder file or when
you activate/deactivate the Microsoft Excel section.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
MORE INFORMATION
When a Microsoft Excel file has been saved while a module sheet is
active, all of the auto macros will run when the file is added to a
Microsoft Binder. The auto_close macro runs each time the Microsoft
Binder file is closed. If the Microsoft Excel file is saved while a
worksheet, dialog sheet, Microsoft Excel 4.0 macro sheet, or chart sheet
is active, auto macros are not run after the section has been added.
