Works: Copying Database Field Overwrites Destination Field (136703)

When you select an entire database field and paste it into a second field, all of the information in the second field is overwritten. If you just select and copy the information in the first field and not the entire field, you won't overwrite the second field.

This is true even if the database field that is pasted into has more
records than the one that was copied. For example, Field A, with 4 records of data, is selected and copied to the clipboard and then pasted into Field B. Field B receives the data that was copied from Field A, but everything below record 4 is be blank.
Select only the information you want pasted and not the entire field. One easy way to do this is to select the first record of the field you want to copy and then press and hold down the CTRL key and the SHIFT key while you use the DOWN ARROW key to select other records.
