BUG: ISQL/W Has Problem Displaying Large Strings (136159)

If you try to display large strings or rename column names with strings
that are very large, the ISQL/W results window clears out. You can see the
results when the contents of the result window are highlighted or copied to
a file.
CAUSE
This is a display problem and is not related to values returned from the
server. This does not occur on isql (console application provided with SQL
4.21a).
WORKAROUND
Use short and concise names for columns (less than 256 characters)
and break-up strings to be displayed within ISQL/W.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in ISQL/W version 4.21a. We
are researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
