Batch Files Stop Executing with Windows NT version 3.51 (136023)

SYMPTOMS

Batch files using line feeds, instead of line feeds and carriage returns, stop executing prematurely with Windows NT version 3.51. The same batch files execute correctly with version 3.5.

NOTE: Batch files with only line feeds are common in UNIX.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.51.

STATUS
