Works 95: Easy Text Doesn't Work with F3 Key (135045)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to insert Easy Text into your Works document using the F3 key, nothing happens.

RESOLUTION

Easy Text is not inserted into a document if you are in overtype mode when you press the F3 key, and you were in overtype mode when you typed the Easy Text name into the document.

Check the status bar, located at the bottom-right corner of the Works window, to see if you are in overtype mode. If you see the code, OVR, you are in overtype.

To turn off overtype, press the INSERT key.

MORE INFORMATION

If the name of the Easy Text is not found, you receive one of the following error messages:
There must be an Easy Text name in front of cursor.

-or-

The Easy Text <name of the Easy Text> does not exist.
No error messages appear in overtype mode.
