This article was previously published under Q134903 SYMPTOMS
You can use the Format Painter to copy character formatting from a document
window to a macro window. In addition, if you activate the Highlight tool
in a document window, you can switch to a macro window and apply
highlighting to your text. In contrast, when a macro window is active, you
cannot use the Format Painter tool or the Highlight tool. Clicking either
button will display the following message in the status bar:
This command is not available because a macro window is active.
