VLOOKUP() Returns Incorrect Result (134259)

In Microsoft Excel, the VLOOKUP() worksheet function may return an
incorrect result when the following conditions are true: - The lookup table and the VLOOKUP() function are on different
worksheets.
-and-
- The Transition Formula Evaluation option is enabled on the worksheet
that contains the lookup table.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, disable the Transition Formula Evaluation option.
To do this, follow these steps: - Activate the worksheet that contains the lookup table.
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Transition tab.
- Click to clear the Transition Formula Evaluation check box, and then
click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. This problem no longer occurs in
Microsoft Excel 2000.
