The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office for Windows 95
This article was previously published under Q133426 SYMPTOMS
In the Microsoft Office Setup program, when you clear the Microsoft Binder
Help Files item during a custom installation, or when you use the
Add/Remove button during maintenance mode Setup, you receive the following
warning:
This component is an essential part of the application. If it is not
installed, the application will not run properly.
This problem occurs with both Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows
NT, version 3.51.
MORE INFORMATION
Office Binder will run even if you do not install the Office Binder Help
Files. Although it is a good idea to install the Help file for Office
Binder, if you remove the Microsoft Binder Help Files item during Setup, or
choose not to install this item, Binder runs properly. The Help file is not
an essential part of the Binder program.
Note that if you remove the Help file for any of the other Office programs,
you do not receive this warning.
