This article was previously published under Q132916 SYMPTOMS
If you have a table that extends over more than one page, and you specify
several rows of the table as heading rows, none of them appear on
subsequent pages.
CAUSE
This problem occurs in several situations.
Case 1
If more than one page of rows are selected as heading rows, then none
will act as heading rows.
Case 2
If multiple rows are designated as heading rows, and a row not designated
as a heading row falls in between the first and last heading row, then
anything below this row will not be displayed on subsequent pages.
Case 3
If you copy only the rows designated as heading rows to another part of the
document or to a new document, and then make the table more than one page,
then no rows will act like heading rows.
WORKAROUNDMethod 1: Use for Cases 1 and 2
Make sure that no more than one page of contiguous rows are designated
as heading rows. To do this, follow these steps:
- Select the entire table by clicking Select Table on the Table menu.
- On the Table menu, be sure Headings is cleared (so that it does not
have a check mark beside it). If Headings has a check beside it,
click it to remove the check mark.
- Once no headings are selected (highlighted) in the entire table,
select only the desired heading rows, and on the Table menu, click
Headings.
Method 2: Use for Case 3
When copying the table headings, include at least one extra row beneath
the rows designated as headings. You may still need to apply the steps
of method 1.
