MHS: Blank Subject Line (130436)

Microsoft Mail Gateway to MHS displays a /u (with an umlaut) and a blank
subject line on an incoming MHS message.
CAUSE
This problem is caused by the Notification-Correlator field. It is not in
the SMF-70 specification governing MHS, and the gateway is not designed to
handle it.
RESOLUTION
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft,
but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to
systems experiencing this specific problem.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Mail Gateway to
MHS version 3.0.
MORE INFORMATION
The gateway has been changed to ignore lines that do not contain a field
header, except for lines that are continuations of previous ones. The
ignored information will be passed through the gateway untouched, to the
intended Microsoft Mail recipient.
