How to Change The Default Protocol in Windows NT (130400)

When you use multiple protocols under Windows NT, the first protocol installed becomes the default protocol. To change your default protocol:
  1. Run Control Panel and choose Network.
  2. Choose Bindings.
  3. In the Show Bindings For list box choose Server.
  4. Select the protocol that will become the new default protocol.
  5. Use the up arrow button to move it to the top of the list.
  6. In the Show Bindings For list box choose Workstation.
  7. Select the protocol that will become the new default protocol.
  8. Use the up arrow button to move it to the top of the list.
  9. In the Show Bindings For list box choose <All Components>.
  10. Verify the bindings appear in the correct order. The
  11. Select OK to return you to the Networks Settings Dialog box.
  12. Select OK to exit Network settings.
You are given the option to restart the system. You do not have to restart the system at this time but the changes you made will not take effect until the computer is rebooted.
