This article was previously published under Q130174 SUMMARY
When you use Protect Form in a database, you should not be able to change
the formatting of text, such as the font or style. With Protect Form in
use, the Font and Style command under the Format menu and the Bold, Italic
and Underline toolbar buttons are not available.
However, you are still able to change the style of text, to bold for
example, by using the keystroke commands. For example, pressing and
holding down your CTRL key while you press the B key (CTRL+B) would
apply bold formatting, even though Protect Form is in use.
This behavior occurs with style formatting (bold, italic, underline), and
alignment formatting (left, center, right) in a field.
MORE INFORMATION
In Works version 2.0a, this behavior also occurs when you have enabled
Protect Data.
For more information about protecting database forms and data,
see pages 288-289 of the "Microsoft Works User's Guide", version 2.0, or
pages 374-375 of the "Microsoft Work User's Guide," version 3.0.
