MPRJ4: Project Hangs After Deleting Paste Link Destination (130104)

In Microsoft Project, if you delete a paste linked task on the Gantt table,
when you enter new information in the location that previously contained
the paste linked task, Microsoft Project may hang (stop responding).
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you delete the paste linked task after the source
has changed and before the paste linked task has been updated. For example,
if you paste link Task1 (source) to rows 2-6 (destination), and then change
the information in Task 1, if you delete the task in row 6 before this task
has been updated with the new information from the source, Microsoft
Project hangs when you enter new information in row 6.
This problem occurs when Microsoft Project attempts to simultaneously
delete and update a task.
WORKAROUND
To avoid this problem, when you update a field or task that is a link
source, do not delete a destination field or task until the field or task
has been updated with the source change.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
