SUMMARY

A patch for Microsoft Excel for Windows 95 is currently available from Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS). The patch corrects the following problems:
  • The value of certain 15-digit numbers may change unexpectedly.

For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

139803 XL: Wrong Value When Values Pasted with Paste Special

  • A link from one sheet to the same cell or range in another sheet in the same workbook is not updated automatically.
  • Microsoft Excel becomes unstable when you transpose a range that contains a reference.

For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • Microsoft Excel may not recalculate correctly when you have two or more cells that are dependent through a formula to another specific cell. If a number in the source cell is changed, recalculation may not occur in the other cells that are dependent on this source cell.
The patch, which is for use only with Microsoft Excel 7.0, modifies Microsoft Excel so that the above problems no longer occur. A separate patch is available for Microsoft Excel 5.0c.
