SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you print a calendar in your project, if you select the Print Previous/Next Calendar Month check box on the View tab of the Page Setup dialog box, the calendar month title may be cut off in print preview and on the printout.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you print two calendars per page, use the default parameters in a Calendar View, and you print to one of the following printers: LaserWriter NT, DeskWriter 560c, ImageWriter II, or HP Sunburst.

When you select the Two option on the View tab in the Page Setup dialog box for a calendar, two calendars are printed side by side on a page. When you select the Print Previous/Next Calendar Month check box on the same tab, the calendar Month name is printed between two small calendars for the previous and next month. When you select both of these options, the calendar Month names may be cut off by the small calendars on either side.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use any of the following methods.

Method 1

Change the font size of the month titles: To do this, select the Text button, select the Monthly Titles item and choose a smaller font size. For example, by default the titles are formatted with a 22 point font size. Choose a 20 or 18 point instead.

Method 2

Print only one month per page. To do this, select the Months Per Page option, and select the 1 option on the View tab in the Page Setup dialog box for the calendar.

Method 3

Clear the Print Previous/Next Month Calendars check box on the View tab in the Page Setup dialog box for the calendar.

Method 4

Change the printout orientation from landscape to portrait. On Page Setup Page tab, select the Portrait button.

MORE INFORMATION

Note that by default, the following printers print the Calendar month title correctly:

Color StyleWriter 2400
HP 7550 plotter
Apple Color Printer
StyleWriter II
