SUMMARY

Although you can turn on the Snap To Grid setting in order to position and align fields in the Design Form (Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a) or Form (Works 3.0) view of the database module, the Snap To Grid increments cannot be changed. In addition, the Snap To Grid resolution is determined by your video driver resolution and may vary from one computer to another.

MORE INFORMATION

The increment of Snap To Grid is fixed internally at 8 pixels; however, the increment in inches depends on the resolution of the video driver you are using. Most video drivers (including standard VGA) have a resolution of 96 pixels per inch, where 8 pixels equals 1/12th inch. Other video drivers may have resolutions of 120 pixels per inch, resulting in a Snap To Grid increment of 1/15th inch.

If the international measurement units setting in Control Panel is set to metric, the resolution of Snap To Grid will be converted to centimeters.

NOTE: The ability to change grid increments in a form is available in Microsoft Access.
