Works 3.0 Additions to System Files (124518)

SUMMARY

The Works for Windows Setup program adds lines to the following files during a complete installation:

WIN.INI
AUTOEXEC.BAT
SYSTEM.INI
ARTGALRY.INI
MSWORKS3.INI

NOTE:

Information may vary for network, multimedia, minimum, and custom installations.
If you are using Windows 3.x, REG.DAT is also modified by setup, but those changes are not listed here.
If you are using Windows 95, you might not have an AUTOEXEC.BAT file

CHANGES TO SYSTEM FILES

When performing a complete installation, the Works Setup program adds the following lines to the Windows 3.1 system files. (Section headers may already exist in the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI file.)

NOTE: All indented lines are continuations from the previous line. The order of entries may be different from those listed below.

If you use the Remove All command in Setup to remove Works, including all shared components, Setup will remove all lines added by itself EXCEPT for the following:

   [MSAPPS] section
   All section headers

SYSTEM.INI file

   [386Enh] section

MSWORKS3.INI file

   [MS Works] section
   [Template Section] section
   All section headers

NOTE: Lines added after installation to the other sections of MSWORKS3.INI are also NOT removed, including those added to the [Word Processor], [Communications], [Recent File List] and [Workspace] sections.
