Quattro Pro Column Graph Displays Negative Values (124233)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95 7.0a
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 5.0c
This article was previously published under Q124233 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel, when you open a Quattro Pro file that contains a
stacked column graph, negative values are displayed differently on
the graph than when you open the file in Quattro Pro.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because when you create a stacked column graph
in Quattro Pro, negative values are graphed as positive percentage
values. However, Microsoft Excel plots negative numbers using the
negative value, even with a stacked column chart. This is by design
of Microsoft Excel.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior in Microsoft Excel, use any of the
following methods.
Method 1:
Change the negative values on your worksheet to positive values.
Method 2:
Use the ABS() function to create a chart using the absolute value
of the data that you want to chart.
