SUMMARY

Microsoft SNA Server and Microsoft Host Integration Server (HIS) support SNA connections over X.25/QLLC by using any SDLC adapter that is supported by SNA Server, Host Integration Server 2000, or through special X.25 link services that are available from several third-party vendors that are listed in the SNA Server product companion catalog that is included with the product. The particular adapter must also be supported in the server operating system.

For SNA Server or HIS configuration information, see the SNA Server Manager Online Help, the SNA Server or HIS "Administrator's Guide," and the appropriate third-party vendor documentation.

MORE INFORMATION

If the connection still does not activate after you follow the configuration information and you connect to a host system, the following settings should also be checked in the X.25 connection properties sheet in SNA Manager:
  • XID Format

For 3270 communication to a host system over X.25/QLLC, some host systems require Format 0.
  • User Data

Host systems require that C3 is configured here to indicate that X.25/QLLC protocol is being requested.
