Header/Footer Margin Settings Not Saved in View Manager (123192)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95 7.0a
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 5.0c
- Microsoft Excel for Windows NT 5.0
- Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh 5.0a
This article was previously published under Q123192 SYMPTOMS
In the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article,
when you use the View Manager add-in to save a view of your worksheet, the
Header and Footer From Edge values are not saved.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Header and Footer From Edge setting is a
new Page Setup setting in Microsoft Excel versions 5.0 and 7.0. This
setting is not included as one of the Page Setup settings that is saved by
the View Manager when you create a view.
STATUS
This is a known problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed at the
beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel 97
for Windows and Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
MORE INFORMATION
In Microsoft Excel versions 5.0 and later, you can set the distance you
want between the header and the top of the page, and between the footer and
the bottom of the page. You can do this by using the Margins tab in the
Page Setup dialog box, and by entering the desired value under From Edge in
the Header and Footer boxes.
