XL: AutoFilter Command Is Unavailable After Using the Hide All Objects Option (120869)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 5.0
This article was previously published under Q120869 SUMMARY
In Microsoft Excel, the AutoFilter Tool is unavailable.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you select the Hide All
option, which hides all objects. To see the Hide All
option, from the Tools menu, choose Options,
and look under Objects on the View tab.
The drop-down arrows used in AutoFilter are objects that are
hidden when the Hide All option is selected. Because Microsoft Excel
is unable to display the arrows, the AutoFilter command
is unavailable.
