SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following error message when trying to set up custom labels.

Works 3.0

Page Size Too Small. Continue?

Works 4.0, 4.5, or 4.5a

The label does not fit on the page. Continue anyway?

Followed by instructions for making the labels fit on the page.
If you choose Yes to continue, your labels may preview and print incorrectly. Choosing No allows you to correct the problem.

RESOLUTION

This error message is attributed to trying to print a set of custom labels where the vertical or horizontal measurement of the labels plus the appropriate margins (top and bottom or left and right margins) exceed the page length or width.

To correct the problem, adjust either your margins or the label measurements.

The following is a way of calculating these measurements:

Works 3.0

(# of LABELS DOWN PAGE*VERTICAL MEASUREMENT)+TOP AND BOTTOM MARGINS must be <=PAGE LENGTH

-or-

(# OF LABELS ACROSS*HORIZONTAL MEASUREMENT)+LEFT AND RIGHT MARGINS must be <=PAGE WIDTH

If the total is greater than the page length or width (or both), you will receive the error message
Page Size Too Small
during the creation of the custom labels.

Works 4.0, 4.5, or 4.5a

(# of LABELS DOWN PAGE*(HEIGHT+TOP MARGIN OF LABEL))+TOP MARGIN OF PAGE must be <=PAGE LENGTH

-or-

(# of LABELS ACROSS PAGE*(WIDTH+LEFT MARGIN OF LABEL))+SIDE MARGIN OF PAGE must be <=PAGE WIDTH

If the total is greater than the page length or width (or both), you will receive the following error message when you click Done:
The page width/height and label dimensions do not match. Continue anyway?

The page width/height is not valid with the current label dimensions.
