SUMMARY

Word 6.0 for the Macintosh installs two files--the Registration Database and Embedding Preferences--that contain information about which applications support OLE. Both files are installed in the Preferences folder of your System folder.

MORE INFORMATION

The Registration Database contains information about OLE 2.0 functionality, whereas the Embedding Preferences file contains information regarding OLE 1.0 functionality. If either of these files is deleted, the file is re- created when the OLE application is started.

At this time there is no utility to edit the Registration Database on the Macintosh platform. However, once the OLE application is started, the application is re-registered in the Registration Database or the Embedding Preferences file.
