Ancient Lands: GP Fault with Windows Sound System (118573)

When you are using the Sound Blaster Pro card and the Windows Sound System
version 2.0 software, you receive the following general protection (GP)
fault with software using sounds:
Application Error - <filename> caused a General Protection Fault in
module WSSSBPRO.DRV at 0001:1993
For example, the error can occur when: - You select a guide for a guided tour (as well as at other points)
with Microsoft Ancient Lands.
- Microsoft Mail attempts to play the sound for incoming mail.
- The After Dark screen saver activates.
- You run MindMaze from Microsoft Encarta, 1995 Edition.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows Sound System
version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
