The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher 97
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows 3.0
- Microsoft Publisher 2.0
- Microsoft Publisher 2.0a
This article was previously published under Q117920 SYMPTOMS
When printing a banner created in Publisher, you may notice characters
missing from the printed output.
NOTE: This problem does not occur if you create the text on your banner
using a WordArt frame instead of a text or table frame.
CAUSE
Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet (and compatible) printers cannot split
characters between separate sheets of paper, although this ability is
often needed when printing a banner.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use TrueType fonts, and select the Print
TrueType As Graphics check box in the Tile Printing Options dialog box.
The Print TrueType As Graphics option is available when you use a printer
driver for the HP LaserJet or a compatible printer that emulates the HP
LaserJet printers.
