Unpatterned/Uncolored Cells Have Pattern or Color When Redrawn (117856)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a double border to cells formatted with a color and/or a pattern, the cells may be redrawn incorrectly. This redraw problem gives cells without patterns the same color or pattern as the cell directly below it.

This redraw problem may occur just after the double border is applied, after you print your document, or after you view it in print preview.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Select cell A1 and apply any color or pattern to it.
  2. Select cells B2:C2 and apply the same pattern.
  3. Select cell C2 and apply a double border to the bottom of that cell.
Notice the same shading will now appear in cell B1.
