SUMMARY
If customer wants to register several copies of the same version of
Microsoft Office, one serial number is sufficient.
The software serial numbers can be obtained only by running Setup and
getting the information from the fourth Setup screen in versions 4.0, 4.2
and 4.3 or the fifth screen in version 7.0-CD.
MORE INFORMATION
To acquire the serial number of the product identification number (PID),
run setup. The serial number is displayed in the fourth setup screen,
before any table file parsing or copy file actions, so it comes up
relatively quickly. In version 7.0-CD, it is called the CD key and is on
the fifth screen.
The serial number is stamped into the SETUP.INI file at manufacturing time.
Because it is possible to use a hex editor to view and edit the number, DO
NOT tell customers where this information is stored.
