SUMMARY

All versions of Works for Windows provide the same fundamental level of support for Microsoft Windows for Pen Computing.

MORE INFORMATION

Below is a list of Windows for Pen Computing features supported in Works for Windows:

  1. Enable edit fields for Windows for Pen Computing, including the formula bar in the Spreadsheet and Database module, the insertion point in the Word Processor module, and all dialog boxes.

In the Works Word Processor module, the "I" cursor becomes a pen cursor, and wherever it appears, you can write pen input.

In the Works Spreadsheet and Database modules, you must make sure the "I" cursor becomes a pen cursor in the formula bar; otherwise, clicking on a cell activates cells and moves the information.

The input will be recognized and converted into typed characters. You do not have to write pen characters in the edit field or at the insertion point. The user can write anywhere on the pen surface, and the recognized characters will be placed at the pen cursor.
  2. Gesture recognition.

You can execute gestures, special symbols that issue a command, such as deleting text or pasting text. You can draw the gesture over the text that you want to affect. If a selection has been made in an edit area on a character or word (phrase, sentence, or paragraph in the Word Processor), drawing a gesture over that selection causes the gesture to affect the selected contents.
