ACC2: Converted Database Shows Incorrect Macro Definitions (116060)

SYMPTOMS

When you convert a Microsoft Access version 1.x database to version 2.0, macros that contain the DoMenuItem action will not show the correct action arguments when you print the macro definitions using the Print Definition command from the File menu.

RESOLUTION

Open each affected macro in Design view and then choose Save As from the File menu. Choose OK without changing the macro name. Print the macro definition again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem


  1. In Microsoft Access version 1.x, create a database called TEST_MAC.MDB. Create a new macro with the following action, and then save the macro as Replace: 
          DoMenuItem
         Menu Bar: Form
         Menu Name: Edit
         Command: Replace
  2. Quit Microsoft Access 1.x and start Microsoft Access version 2.0. From the File menu, choose Convert Database. Convert the database that you created in Step 1 to version 2.0 format. Name the converted database TEST_MA2.MDB.
  3. Open TEST_MA2.MDB. In the Database window, select the Replace macro. Then, choose Print Definition from the File menu. Note that the report shows the Find command instead of the Replace command.
