SYMPTOMS

Printing envelopes in Works to the Canon BJ-200e, BJ-600e, BJC-600 or BJC- 4000 printer may cause the following error:
The page size and orientation settings do not match the page size settings in your document.

CAUSE

The Windows printer drivers for these Canon BubbleJet printers cause Works to create envelopes in the wrong orientation (landscape instead of portrait).

NOTE: This does not occur with the Canon BubbleJet drivers that ship with Windows 95.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, add the following section and/or settings to the MSWORKS3.INI file

[Envelope]
Options=1
LPTx=16

where "x" is the local port being used (for example, LPT1).

This setting in the MSWORKS3.INI will force all envelopes printed in Works to be printed in portrait orientation.

MORE INFORMATION

The only disadvantage to this solution is that if you also use a printer that requires landscape printing of envelopes, you will need to remove the above changes to the MSWORKS3.INI file to allow Works to print the envelopes in landscape.
