Works: Deleting Print Area Range Name Doesn't Reset Print Area (115462)

SUMMARY

When you set a custom print area in a spreadsheet, Works creates a range name called print area to indicate this area. The "Microsoft Works User's Guide" and the Help utility state that you can reset the print area to the entire spreadsheet by performing the following steps:
  1. From the Insert menu, choose Range Name.
  2. In the Names box, choose Print Area.
  3. Choose the Delete button.
  4. Choose the Close button.
This does not reset the print area as expected in Works 3.0. This does work as described in Works 3.0a.

WORKAROUND

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 3.0 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Works version 3.0a for Windows.

To reset the print area to the entire spreadsheet in Works 3.0, select the data and set the print area manually by performing the following steps:
  1. Highlight A1 of the spreadsheet.
  2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+END to select the data.
  3. From the Format menu, choose Set Print Area.
  4. Choose OK in the "Set print area to current selection?" dialog box.
