SUMMARY

To delete the names of services from the Easy Connect dialog box in the Works Communications module, do the following:

  1. Exit Works.
  2. Open the MSWORKS3.INI file (located in the Windows directory) in a text editor such as Notepad.
  3. Locate the [Recent File List] section. This section will have listings for any Communications documents that have been saved for the most recently used services.
  4. The information for the most recently used services is stored in two forms. The first form is the actual path to the Communications file. The second is the long filename definition that is displayed in the Easy Connect dialog box.

    For example:
          CMFile1=C:\MSWORKS\CSERVE.WCM
          CMFile2=C:\MSWORKS\GENIE.WCM
          CMFile3=
          CMFile4=
          CMFile5=

          CMLongFile1=Compuserve
          CMLongFile2=GEnie
          CMLongFile3=
          CMLongFile4=
          CMLongFile5=

  5. To remove an entry from the services list, delete everything after the equal sign (=) for both entries. Do not delete the text "CMFileX=" or "CMLongFileX=" (where X is a number from 1 to 8).
  6. Save the changes to the MSWORKS3.INI file and exit the text editor. The changes will take effect the next time you start Works.
