Works: 0.25" Added to Top Margin of All Label Documents (113714)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q113714 SUMMARY
All label documents created in Works for Windows have 0.25 inch added to
the top margin shown in Page Setup. If the top margin is set to 0 inch,
0.25 inch is added to the unprintable region specified by the printer
driver.
When you print small labels to some dot-matrix printers, the printing may
begin too far down on the first label, causing the text on all subsequent
labels to be misaligned. This may occur even if all margins have been set
to 0 inch because 0.25 inch is added to the top of the page, as described
above.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, the top of form must be reset on the printer. This
can be done by rolling the carriage back to the top edge of the first
label, and then turning the printer off and then on again. Consult your
printer manual for more information regarding resetting top of form.
If the printer driver being used has a very large unprintable region, some
of the text may not appear on the first label. In most cases a different
printer driver will need to be loaded to correct this problem.
This behavior is by design.
