PRJ: Custom Toolbar Covers Previously Created Custom Toolbar (113508)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you create a custom toolbar, it appears on top of a previously created toolbar.

CAUSE

This is by design in Microsoft Project. Each new toolbar appears in the same location on the screen.

NOTE: This behavior also occurs in Microsoft Word version 6.0 and Microsoft Excel version 5.0.

WORKAROUND

To avoid having a custom toolbar cover a previously created toolbar, move the top toolbar to a new location on the screen.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Choose Toolbars from the View menu. In the Toolbars dialog box, choose New.
  2. In the Name box, type First and choose OK. In the Customize dialog box, choose Close.

    A new toolbar appears on the screen.
  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to create a new toolbar, with the name "Second."
The toolbar Second appears on top of the toolbar First.
