This article was previously published under Q109693 SYMPTOMS
If you are using a Unisys PC model 4XXX2 (where the Xs represent the
processor type, speed, and "2" represents the design level), and you enable
the Disconnect option in CMOS, Windows NT may not start.
CAUSE
The 6260 SCSI chip that Unisys uses with these computers are based on the
Adaptec AHA 1522 SCSI card. Under the Unisys CMOS, there is an option to
enable Disconnect. Enabling this option prevents Windows NT from starting.
STATUS
Unisys has confirmed that there is a problem with the 4XXX2 model using the
6260 SCSI chip and have corrected the problem on newer machines based on
the 6360 chip or later.
If you experience this problem, contact Unisys Customer Service.
