This article was previously published under Q109118 SYMPTOMS
When a Works 2.0 label document is opened in Works 3.0 and converted to
the Works 3.0 format, print preview shows the starting page number as LBL 2
instead of LBL 1.
Saving the document in Works 3.0 format does not correct the problem.
RESOLUTION
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 3.0 for
Windows. This problem was corrected in Works version 3.0a for Windows.
To have a correct starting page number, create a new label in a new Word
Processor document. The information in the existing document can be copied
and pasted into a new Works 3.0 Word Processor document using the following
steps:
- Highlight just the placeholders in the converted Works 2.0 document.
- From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
- From the File menu, choose Create New File.
- From the Tools menu, choose Envelopes/Labels.
- Select the Mailing Labels tab and place your cursor in the Label
section.
- Press CTRL+V on your keyboard to paste the copied information.
- Select the correct label size from the list or choose Custom and
enter the appropriate measurements.
- Choose Create Label and save the document.
