- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1
This article was previously published under Q108321 SYMPTOMS
You may experience some problems when you upgrade your CPU on an existing
Windows NT installation.
RESOLUTION
In most cases there should be no issue in upgrading a CPU, though there can
be problems with incompatibility after the upgrade, even with a system on
the Hardware Compatibility List. Be sure to test any CPU upgrade thoroughly
on each platform before you attempt a large-scale upgrade. If problems
arise, you may need to contact your hardware vendor to upgrade a system
board or to follow other procedures they may suggest.
